Library Board of Trustees

The Geneva Public Library is governed under New York State Education Law by a seven member board of trustees. Members of the board are elected by the voters of the Geneva City School District.

    A seven member board of trustees governs the Geneva Public Library under New York State Education Law and are elected by the voters of the Geneva City School District. Elections are held annually and members of the board serve terms of five years. The board of trustees hires and oversees a director, who is responsible for the administration of the library.

    Board members are elected to five year terms and serve no more than two consecutive terms. There are seven elected members of the library board.

    The board annually appoints a Treasurer who is the chief fiscal officer of the library and an ex-officio, non-voting, member of the board.
