Leap Year Musical Moments Features the Lydian Winds Trio

The Lydian Winds Trio was formed in 1987 and features Jeanine Beahan, flute, Steve Jones, oboe and flute, and Lorraine Jones, bassoon and clarinet. The group has freelanced in the Finger Lakes region, performing a number of recitals, including a performance on the 'Live at Hochstein' series. They often perform ceremonial music at weddings, and are each principal players in the Finger Lakes Symphony. Much of the music they perform was originally written for strings, a genre easily accessible by these woodwind instruments.

The Musical Moments Series provides an informal, casual and intimate environment for talented local artists. Many professional artists and several emerging artists have provided performances that have enthralled audiences and led to the Reading Room being described as Geneva’s new …“musical living room.”. The performances are often followed by a brief Question and Answer period and also a small artist's reception.

Admission is free. The series is funded by a grant from the Margaret Wyckoff Trust and is dedicated to her memory.
