OWWL2Go Question of the Week

Every week  we will be presenting an interesting question from our queue of OWWL2Go Help Tickets. This week we deal with a question about viewing e-book on a Pandigital SuperNova DLX tablet. The Pandigital SuperNova is one of the increasing amounts of lower cost competitors to the more expensive tablets.

The question:
If you are experiencing problems transferring to a device, what are the make and model of the device? Pandigital SuperNova DLX
Please provide as much detail about the nature of the problem as possible (what you were trying to do, what went wrong): “Got the book in my checkout but when I go to download it it say download failed. I just got this for Christmas so it is all new to me”

Our advice:
The Overdrive Media app is not available within the limited app marketplace that comes on the Pandigital but that doesn’t mean you can’t download the app to the device. You can attempt to move the Android Marketplace onto the tablet but people have reported troublesome issues in doing so. Instead, the best course of action to obtain the Overdrive Media app is to use the Pandigital’s browser to search the web for the ODMediaConsoleSetup.apk file. Here is one particular site that has it, http://androiddev.orkitra.com/download/apps/?appid=-6745213300210651618. From there you can follow the directions to install the app. This will allow you to use the Pandigital to obtain e-pub content through the Overdrive Media App.

It also appears that you can obtain the Kindle App for Android, http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html/ref=red_lnd_shrt_url?ie=UTF8&docId=165849822 on the Pandigital so that you can read Kindle content. This will require the download of that app and possible the download of the Amazon Appstore, http://www.amazon.com/gp/mas/get-appstore/android on the Pandigital before.
