Big Read: Discussion of Night by Elie Weisel
9 Nov 2008 - 1:00pm
9 Nov 2008 - 2:15pm
The library is looking for readers to participate in a Big Read and meet to discuss two Holocaust titles in November, Night by Ellie Weisel (Sunday, Nov. 9, 2pm) and The Shawl by Cythina Olzick, (Sunday, Nov. 16, 2pm). Both are brief but iconographic testaments of Slave labor, death camps, survival and recovery. A wrap-up discussion will follow a showing of Sophie's Choice, (Sunday, Nov. 23, 2pm). Meryl Streep leads in the Oscar winning role of a young Polish Nazi death-machine survivor's life and romance in Brooklyn, New York, after the war.
