Cooperating Collection of the Foundation Center

The Geneva Public Library is a Cooperating Collection of the Foundation Center. As a member of this nationwide network of libraries, community foundations, and other nonprofit agencies, the Geneva Public Library provides visitors with free public access to grantmaker directories, books on fundraising and nonprofit management, and the Foundation Center’s electronic databases, Foundation Directory Online Professional, Foundation Grants to Individuals Online, and Philanthropy In/Sight. These fully searchable databases include detailed profiles of all active U.S. foundations, an extensive file of recent grants awarded by the nation's top funders, and interactive mapping tools.

The Foundation Center has just launched the Foundation Directory Mobile iPhone app for FDO Professional! This means iPhone users can now download the free FD Mobile app and use it once inside the Geneva Public Library. Users will stay signed–in for 24 hours — even after they leave the Library!

Grant News

April 25: Public Budget Hearing

 The Library will present its proposed 2012-2013 Budget, which includes an increase of 2% in local tax appropriation. The additional $8,961.00 in tax revenue will help the Library offset rising retirement and health care costs as well as significant reductions in state aid in order to maintain the high quality collections, services and programs that the Geneva community currently enjoys.   

Grantseekers Networking Group Forms

The Geneva Public Library invites local nonprofits and individuals involved in seeking grants for their agencies or for their personal or professional needs to join the Grantseekers Networking Group. The GNG will meet on the fourth Wednesday of the month from 12:00 to 1:00 pm in the Community Room of the Library.
