The Library provides a variety of services in support of its mission and its commitment in the community to connect people and enrich lives, including collections, loaning books and other materials, and information and referrals.
- Ask Us 24/7
The library provides help to the public in need of information or referrals to other organizations and services. When the library is open, it provides this service in person, by telephone (315) 781-2935, or by fax (315) 781-2935. When the library is closed, it provides these services online, seven days a week, beginning in January 2010.
- Loans & Library Cards
The library provides loans from its collections to registered borrowers of all ages. Any registered borrower may borrow from any of the library's collections no matter their age. As a member of the Pioneer Library System, the library also makes possible loans from the collections of the other 41 public libraries in Ontario, Wayne, Wyoming and Livingston counties. Policies and procedures have been established to ensure fair and equitable access by the public to all the library's collections and to ensure that the public's investment in these collections are protected.
- Computers & WiFi
The library works to bridge the digital divide that separates those in the community who can and those who cannot afford computers and broadband access at home. The library provides access to computers, computer programs, and the Internet for residents of all ages, as well as visitors. It also provides classes and one-on-one tutoring on computers for a variety of purposes, including accessing information on the Internet, using web-based email services, and learning about commonly used programs such as Internet Explorer and Microsoft Office.
- Community Room & Spaces
The library's twenty-five thousand square foot facility is available for a variety of uses by the public. Its general-use community room may be reserved and the library has several smaller rooms and areas that are also available for small group meetings or tutoring. The library also allows for the display and distribution of material by community non-profit organizations. Policies and procedures have been established to control the use by the public of these spaces.
- Copying & Faxing
The library provides access to copy machines and enables the public to fax documents to anywhere in the United States. It also provides access to scanners. Policies and procedures have been established to control the use by the public of these resources.
